Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of this website and your purchase of The Online Safety Course for Families. By buying or using the course, you agree to these terms. They are written in plain English on purpose.
1. Who you are agreeing with
This agreement is between you (the buyer or user of the course) and The Online Safety Course for Families ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of this website and the seller of the course.
Contact: info@onlinesafetycourseforfamilies.com
2. What you are buying
The Online Safety Course for Families is a digital web-based educational course aimed at adults aged 65 and over. It includes:
- Five parent modules (text on screen plus audio narration), with quizzes.
- A short companion track for the adult child who buys the course.
- The Emergency Kit PDF Pack: four printable resources.
- 12 months of monthly Scam Alert emails.
- Lifetime access to the course at the URL we provide.
The course is delivered as a hosted website. You access it through a private link sent to the email address used at checkout.
3. Pricing and payment
The price of the course is shown on the website at the time of purchase, in the currency displayed at checkout. Prices may change over time, but the price you pay is the price shown to you when you complete the purchase.
Payment is processed by our payment provider, currently Lemon Squeezy. By completing checkout, you also agree to the payment provider's terms.
4. Refund policy (30-day money-back guarantee)
Our promise: if the course is not useful to you or your family, email us within 30 days of purchase and we will issue a full refund. No forms. No "tell us why." No questions.
To request a refund, send an email to info@onlinesafetycourseforfamilies.com from the address used at purchase. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method, typically within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.
After 30 days, refunds are at our discretion. We may decline refunds where there is clear evidence of abuse (for example, repeat refund requests from the same buyer, or where the course has been redistributed in violation of these terms).
5. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. By purchasing and accessing the course immediately, you expressly consent to immediate performance of the contract, and you acknowledge that this normally results in the loss of the right of withdrawal for digital content under EU law.
This does not affect our 30-day money-back guarantee in section 4, which applies regardless.
6. Your licence to use the course
When you buy the course, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, lifetime licence to access and use the course for personal and immediate-family use.
What is allowed
- Forwarding the access link to members of your immediate family (parents, siblings, your own children, your partner).
- Using the course on any of your own devices (phone, tablet, desktop).
- Printing the Emergency Kit PDFs for your family's use.
What is not allowed
- Sharing the access link publicly (on social media, forums, file-sharing sites).
- Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing the course or any part of it.
- Copying, scraping, or republishing the course content (lessons, audio, PDFs) on any other website, platform, or product.
- Using the course content to train any AI or machine-learning model.
- Removing copyright or attribution notices from any part of the course.
If we discover that the course has been redistributed or republished in violation of these terms, we may revoke access without refund.
7. Intellectual property
All course content, including text, audio, PDFs, branding, layout, and code, is owned by The Online Safety Course for Families or our licensors. It is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of this content to you.
8. Educational content disclaimer
Important: the course provides general educational information about online safety and how to recognize common scams. It is not personalized financial, legal, security, medical, or psychological advice.
We do our best to keep the content accurate and current, but the scam landscape changes constantly. You should always verify specific situations through trusted, independently sourced channels (your bank, your lawyer, official government websites, law enforcement).
Following the course does not guarantee that you or anyone in your family will not be scammed. The course is designed to reduce risk, not eliminate it.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The course is provided "as is" and "as available."
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the course.
- Our total liability to you, for any reason, is limited to the amount you paid for the course in the 12 months prior to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law (including statutory consumer rights).
10. Account and access
The course does not require an account, username, or password. Access is via a private link sent to the email address used at checkout. You are responsible for keeping that link reasonably private and for the conduct of anyone you forward it to.
If your link is compromised (for example, posted publicly), contact us and we will issue a replacement link and revoke the old one.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the course or website for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to bypass security measures, scrape, or reverse-engineer any part of the course or website.
- Submit false or misleading information at checkout or in support emails.
- Use the course or website to harass, defame, or harm us, our staff, or other users.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the course if you breach these terms in a material way (for example, by redistributing the course publicly or attempting to bypass technical protections). In such cases you are not entitled to a refund for the unused portion of your access.
13. Service availability
We aim to keep the course available continuously but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may take the site offline for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control. We will try to give reasonable notice of planned downtime.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated by email to active customers where appropriate. Continued use of the course after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these terms will be resolved in the competent courts of Poland.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country in which you live.
The European Commission also operates an Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
